Roy Hudd OBE

Roy recently filmed the role of  ‘Eric The Caretaker’ in the film PATRICK and prior to that ‘David Barrett’ ( Olivia Coleman’s Dad ) in ‘Broadchurch lll’ for ITV1. Prior to those he filmed the role of  ‘Maurice’ in BENIDORM, ‘Clive Lloyd’ in HOLBY CITY for the BBC and  filmed the role of ‘Morse Code Martin’ in  OUR ROBOT OVERLORDS for Pinewood Films.

In Theatre he completed a hugely successful run playing ‘Henry Ormonroyd’ in WHEN WE ARE MARRIED at The Garrick Theatre, London.

Roy’s other television roles include the role ‘Joe Collett’ in CALL THE MIDWIFE for the BBC , ‘Victor Spencer’ in MIDSOMER MURDERS for ITV, Felix’ in LAW & ORDER for ITV ,’Tommy Sandison’ in DOCTORS for the BBC, ‘Frank Hardwick’ in ASHES TO ASHES, ‘Jack Croft’ in MISSING for the BBC, LITTLE DORRIT, ‘Barry Rooney’ in NEW TRICKS and ‘The Music Hall Proprietor’ in THE AMAZING MISS NIGHTINGALE all for the BBC. He also played series regular ‘Archie Shuttleworth’ in CORONATION STREET for 4 years.

Roy’s career began in the late 1950’s with seasons at Richmond Theatre, The Young Vic and Regents Park.  His Television career began with BBC’s notorious NOT SO MUCH A PROGRAMME MORE A WAY OF LIFE which lead to countless appearances in entertainment and drama productions.

In 2003 Roy was awarded an OBE in the New Year’s Honour for his continued contribution to entertainment.
