Lara Sawalha

Lara just played the role of ‘Fida Hamad’ in a double episode special of CASUALTY for the BBC.

On stage she performed as part of the Young Vic’s production of WHY IT IS ALL KICKING OFF EVERYWHERE which was also aired on the BBC.

Prior to this she played ‘Anne/Ana/Aminah in OIL at The Almeida Theatre alongside Anne Marie Duff and the role of ‘Zarlasht Halaimzai’ in ANOTHER WORLD – LOSING OUR CHILDREN TO ISLAMIC STATE at The National Theatre.

Her other theatre credits include Gibran’s REST UPON THE WIND at Theatre Royal Haymarket, TUNNEL by Mags Chalchaft at The Nightingale Theatre, Brighton, SOUR LIPS at The Oval House Theatre, ‘Michelline’ in REST UPON THE WIND at The Tristan Bates Theatre and The Riverside Studios.  In Jordan she has appeared in MEMOIRS OF SOLITUDE at The Al-Hussein Cultural Centre, ‘Cat’ in PETER & THE WOLF BALLET for The Black Iris Festival and ‘Jamilah the Poet’ in PETRA ROCKS MUSICAL at University Theatre.

Her film works includes ‘Alia’ in FATHER IS DOING FINE for Brave New World Productions, ‘Salma’ in THE LAST FRIDAY a Royal Film Commission for Jordan and ‘Girl’ in CAPTAIN ABU RAED which won at The Sundance Film Festival.
